IT'S BACK! The Ohio State Fair 5K has returned to Central Ohio offering a complete family experience of fun and exercise. This is your chance to run through the Ohio State Fairgrounds prior to its public opening later in the morning. Imagine weaving your way through hundreds of rides and exhibits along this unique 3.1 mile route. Your morning will begin with the traditional 100 yard dash for kids 9 and under. Check out details below and mark your calendar for Sunday, July 31st beginning at 8am.
The Ohio State Fair is opening early on July 31st as it hosts a 5K run (or walk) beginning at the historic Crew Stadium. At 8:00am the race begins heading past the Ohio Historical Society and directly inside the fairgrounds past hundreds of rides and exhibits. The events is for both competitive runners as well as the more casual runner or walker looking for a little exercise plus a little more! Bring a camera! Family friendly.
Your entry into the Ohio State Fair 5K includes a great looking race shirt coupled with a custom medal and neck ribbon, free admission, free parking and more. Additionally, everyone will be issued a race number (bib) that is programmed to record your exact start and finish time. The top 5 overall male and female finishers receive custom plaques. Food and beverage will be provided afterwards. Starting time is 8:00am in front of the old Crew Stadium (I-71 and 17th Ave).
Got kids? Why not enter that future Olympian (9-under) in the 100 yard dash. Each young athlete receives a cool looking shirt and a medal they will cherish forever! Starting time 7:45am.
Note: Lots of families want to have their young Olympian to tag along in the 5K. No problem.
PARKING. Participants should take the I-71 and 17th Ave exit. Follow the signs to the historic Crew Stadium parking lot.
5K entry fee: 5K-$40 Race day: $45 (includes t-shirt, electronic chip timing, attractive finish medal, finish line food and beverage, ticket to the fair and free parking).
Kids 100 yard dash: $20 (includes t-shirt, finisher medal, finish line food and beverage and fair ticket).
